Badami - Ancient Cave temples

Badami was once the capital of the great Chalukyan Empire that controlled most of peninsular India between the 4th and 8th centuries AD.

The huge lake with rocky hills surrounding it on three sides and sandstone temples at the feet of these hills.

Of the four cave temples, third one is the largest and has some fine carvings
